Heavyweights on the Trail: Trump and Obama Stump in Final Midterm Push

ASN NEWS USA — SPECIAL REPORT

WASHINGTON (ASN NEWS USA)— With the November 3 midterm elections less than two weeks away, the two most recognizable figures in American politics are both on the road — campaigning to decide who controls Congress.

President Donald Trump is ramping up his appearances, saying he will spend more than $400 million by Election Day, with more than $300 million already spent, according to his posts on Truth Social. His recent stops include campaign rallies in Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Kansas, where he campaigned for Republican Sen. Roger Marshall. Axios reports Republicans are outspending Democrats in several key Senate races, though analysts note money is not everything.

On the Democratic side, former President Barack Obama is back in the fight. Obama taped campaign commercials for two dozen Democratic Senate and gubernatorial candidates, his team told Politico on October 6, and he is campaigning in key races including the Michigan Senate contest featuring Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.

The 2026 midterms have become difficult to separate from the two presidents who continue to dominate American politics. Trump is campaigning to protect his party’s congressional majority. Obama is campaigning to help Democrats take it away.

Polls show competitive Senate contests in Michigan, Iowa, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Maine, Alaska, Kansas, and New Hampshire — though individual polls measure voter sentiment at a moment in time and do not determine results.
