CHICAGO — ASN News USA is going worldwide.

ASN News USA and the F.I.R.E. Reporters Alliance have officially appointed investigative journalist Satish Sekar as Media Coordinator / Contributor — International Core (IC), effective October 21, 2026. The appointment authorizes Sekar to represent ASN News USA and the Alliance on an international scale — leading investigative journalism initiatives, field reporting, and editorial collaboration across borders.

In his new role, Sekar will spearhead cross-border investigative stories and transatlantic media collaboration, amplifying the voices that advance justice, accountability, and community empowerment.

ASN audiences already know his work. Sekar co-hosts the Freedom and Justice Journal, the network’s investigative series, and has built his career on wrongful-conviction reporting — the kind of journalism that refuses to look away when the system gets it wrong. His distinguished background in investigative journalism, his passion for truth, and his dedication to human rights make him a pillar of the network’s growing global operations.

“We are honored to have your expertise, vision, and leadership on board as we expand our global footprint,” said Amir A.H. Shakur, Director of ASN News USA and Founder & Managing Principal of the F.I.R.E. Reporters Alliance.

Sekar carries the official ASN News USA International Press Badge — Credential ID: S260-0017-2088 IL — his primary authorization on field assignments and official briefings around the world.

The appointment marks the latest expansion for ASN News USA under the ASN Global Broadcast Network, as the network builds a reporting presence that stretches from Chicago to the world.
