Cardi B, Summer Walker Lead Billboard Canada Women in Music 2026 Honors

ASN NEWS USA — SPECIAL REPORT

TORONTO (ASN NEWS USA)— The women are running the music world, and Billboard Canada just made it official.

Billboard Canada has named its honorees for Women in Music 2026, and the list reads like a roll call of the culture’s biggest forces. Cardi B will accept the Global Woman of the Year Award. Summer Walker will receive the Global Visionary Award. Bebe Rexha takes home the Global Hitmaker Award, and rising star Chxrry earns the 2026 Rising Star Award.

The ceremony will be hosted by Leandra Earl and Kylie Miller of The Beaches, last year’s Women of the Year.

Cardi’s Year, Walker’s Vision

Cardi B’s honor caps another dominant run at the top of the culture. Summer Walker’s recognition follows her Finally Still Over It tour — her first arena tour — which turned her now-complete Over It trilogy into a live show that sold out venues around the world, kicking off in Toronto and closing with two sold-out nights at London’s O2 Arena.

Bebe Rexha’s Hitmaker Award recognizes a career that moved from songwriter to charting artist, including her 2026 album Dirty Blonde, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Dance Albums chart. Chxrry, meanwhile, opened on The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour and played 16 sold-out shows worldwide this year, including two stops in Toronto.

Why It Matters

These honors are bigger than trophies. They mark who is shaping the sound, the stage, and the business of music right now — and the women on this list are not waiting for permission. They are setting the pace.
