50 Cent Salutes Cardi B for Escaping the “Love & Hip Hop Graveyard”

ASN NEWS USA — SPECIAL REPORT

NEW YORK (ASN NEWS USA)— 50 Cent is giving Cardi B her flowers. The rap mogul praised Cardi on the October 13 episode of his “The Crew Has It” podcast, crediting her with escaping what he bluntly called reality television’s “dead hip-hop section.”

“Cardi’s from the graveyard. She came out the graveyard, bro,” 50 said. “Love & Hip Hop. Everybody that was there was dying. That was the dead hip-hop section.”

His point wasn’t that the VH1 franchise lacked visibility — it’s that the visibility rarely turned into real music careers. In 50’s view, the show had become a lane for artists who no longer expected hit records, a place to be seen when the songs stopped carrying the conversation. Cardi was the exception.

She appeared on season six of Love & Hip Hop as an up-and-coming rapper, and after two seasons she walked away to bet on herself. Within months came the Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2 mixtape, an Atlantic Records deal, and “Bodak Yellow” — the record that changed everything.

50 said Cardi and Sexyy Red share a rare gift: they were already entertaining before any hit record existed. “They were already going viral just being who they are,” he said. And on Cardi’s TV run specifically: “The way she was responding was comedic, and that makes her bulletproof.”

The Bronx native built her following on unfiltered social media videos long before VH1, and she’s far from finished — she’s working on an album slated for 2027, following “AH HA,” which debuted at No. 25 on the Hot 100 in July.

50’s verdict is simple: Cardi didn’t just survive the graveyard. She is the hit.
