ASN NEWS USA — SPECIAL REPORT
ATLANTA (ASN NEWS USA)— Offset just put the date on it. The Atlanta rap star announced that his new album “GMFU” drops October 23, and he did it the way only Offset can — straight from his Instagram, no label games, no middleman.
He teased the album alongside a recap of his Paris Fashion Week run, posting: “Paris fashion week OH YEA ALBUM DROP OCT23. #GMFU” — and added that the album comes straight from his heart, aimed squarely at everybody who went against him when times were hard. In a recent interview with Paper Magazine, he doubled down on the focus: “I’m back to the music and away from the [noise]. I’m straight to the music.”
The timing is no coincidence. The announcement lands one week after Quavo’s “QRÖMELIFE” hit streaming — and Offset is all over that project. Their collaboration “Away” marks the first time the two have recorded together in five years. After years of tension between the Migos brothers, the ice is officially thawing.
And the bigger picture keeps getting bigger: a Migos reunion to honor the late Takeoff is in motion, with new projects and possibly a tour in the works. Offset’s “GMFU” looks like the opening act of that homecoming.
Bottom line: October 23 is circled. The South is about to run the charts again.
