DEMS GO DEEP INTO RED COUNTRY: Six New House Targets Added With Midterms Weeks Away

ASN NEWS USA — NEWS FLASH

WASHINGTON (ASN NEWS USA)— House Democrats just put six more Republican-held seats on their flip list — and they’re going deep into Trump country to do it.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced Monday that it has added six candidates to its coveted “Red to Blue” program, growing the target list to 46 seats. The new additions: Chris Jones in Arizona District 2, Dwayne Romero in Colorado District 3, Eliott Rodriguez in Florida District 27, Teresa Benitez-Thompson in Nevada District 2, Blake Gendebien in New York District 21, and Justin Pearson in Tennessee District 9. According to Politico, these are districts President Donald Trump won by an average of 16 points or more in 2024.

Red to Blue members get the full party machinery: fundraising support, strategy guidance, training, and extra staff. “The candidates added to our Red to Blue program today are winning over voters with their message of lowering costs — from gas and groceries to health care and housing,” said DCCC Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene.

The move comes one week after the committee added eight more seats to its “Districts in Play” battlefield. With less than a month until the midterms, Democrats are projecting nothing but confidence — and history is on their side: the party holding the White House has lost House seats in all but two midterms since 1938.

Republicans aren’t conceding the map. The National Republican Congressional Committee called the expanded list “wishful thinking” that “doesn’t change the fundamentals of the House map.”
